Scratch Scratch Scratch!!!
Yes i agree it is a funny tittle, couldn’t think of a better one. Scratch is a project developed by Mitchel Resnick and his associates at MIT’s Lifelong Kindergarten research group. Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create interactive stories, animations, games, music and art.
Scratch is designed to help kids (ages 8 and up) develop coding skills. As they create Scratch projects, they learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the process of design.
Scratch is available as a free 35 MB download, and runs on both Windows and Mac OS X, with a Linux version currently in the works. The interface is divided up into several panels: lists of available programming operators and variables appear on the left-hand side, scripts, images, and sounds are in the middle, and the program itself is shown on the right.
The System requirements are
Display:
1024 x 768 or larger, thousands or millions of colors (16-bit color or greater)
OS:
Windows 98 or later
Mac OS X 10.3 or later
Disk:
at least 120 megabytes of free space to install Scratch

I have already linked to the site in the post (http://scratch.mit.edu/). You can’t expect 8 year olds to type in commands. It is just drag and drop.
